Cross Country
Congratulations Mighty and Marvelous Nighthawks! Excellent effort for Terry and outstanding behaviour, despite the wait time between and after your races. I'm very proud of you.

Science
This afternoon we talked about CONSUMERS. What is the difference between a consumer and a producer? What are the different types of consumers? Tomorrow we will look at the relationship between consumers and construct FOOD CHAINS.

We can also classify consumers as primary, secondary and tertiary. Look at the diagram below. What do you think the difference is between them?

Here's the link for today. We will watch the rest of the video tomorrow.

Math
Grade fours constructed several stem and leaf plots for the purpose of COMPARING the data. If we want to know how SPREAD OUT the data is, we find the RANGE. The range is the difference between the highest and lowest data point. If there is a big difference, then the data is very spread out which makes sense if you stop to think about it. Please complete questions #4 (2 stem and leaf plots) and question #5 (2 stem and leaf plots). One question asks which is easier to link, paper clips or elastics? Hmmm.... if the numbers are higher in one chain than the other, what does that mean?

Great job linking elastics!

Grade fives worked quietly on their art. Tomorrow they will construct BAR GRAPHS WITH INTERVALS while the grade fours work on their art.

Reminders:
  • Last day to bring permission form for Upper Thames Conservation Area field trip
