Patterns Test #2 tomorrow.
Some students still do not understand how to predict the 101st or 55th term of a pattern.
In the following problem:
Mrs. Hollis is depositing $25 in her bank account every week. Her current balance is $365. Set up a t-chart to show how much money she has in her account after 10 weeks.

How much will Mrs.Hollis have in her bank account after 1 year?
We know that in one year there are 52 weeks. If you use 50 weeks that's okay too.
From 0 weeks to 52 weeks is 52 weeks (52 - 0). Sometimes the first week is 1 so be careful.
52 weeks x $25 a week = $1,300
That's how much the account will increase by. You must add that amount to the original balance.
$1,300 + $365 = $1,665
If it's a growing pattern you would add it to the first term. If it's a shrinking pattern you would subtract it.
Keeping reviewing and practicing!

The elections results are in.....
The Liberals did not reach the magic number of 170. Why is 170 a magic number? What happens when a party reaches that magic number? How many seats did they end up winning?
Share with a parent the page in your Social Studies notebook outlining the election results. Who won the popular vote? Interesting....
Finish the front side of the sheet on the different platforms for the different parties. Use the website below:
How did the Student Vote across Canada compare to the actual results? How did our school compare to the other schools in our riding? Using the link below to make some conclusions. Your vote counted!
Religion
Today we talked about the story of Moses and the Exodus. What is an exodus? What happened after the Israelites escaped the Egyptians? God's gift to the Israelites is GUIDANCE. What did God give Moses to help guide the Hebrew people?
