Today we talked about dividing by 10 and 100. When we are dividing we are sharing or equal grouping. When we divide, our answer gets SMALLER.

Review for grade five, new for grade four....

When we are dividing by 10, 100 or even 1000, we are making the number 10 times, 100 times or 1000 times smaller. This time the digits are moving to the right on the place value chart.

I think now we all the skills we need to start measurement!

PLEASE PRACTICE YOUR MULTIPLICATION FACTS. Some students took home flashcards. Please return them next week.

Science
You should have both your textbook and duotang to study for your Habitats test. The pages in the textbook you should review are pages 28 - 41.

Religion
We read a beautiful story in Religion class today, "After the Star". Although the Feast of the Epiphany has past, we are still called to bring Christ's light to others. Share with a parent what the story was about. How was the family in the story like the Holy Family (Mary, Joseph and Jesus)? How was the parish community like a priest, prophet and king?

Reminders:

• Tomorrow we will be in the library tomorrow using the computers to complete a good copy of our persuasive letter and pen pal letter. If those tasks are complete, you will be working on research of one of the nutrients you chose.
• We will also have an open house tomorrow for the primary students to showcase our habitat projects in the afternoon.
• If you have some time this evening, please write a note or make a card for Madame Scholtes. Tomorrow is her last day.
